Privacy Policy.

What we collect when you use bsforge.co.za, why we collect it, and how you can control it — in line with South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Who This Policy Covers

BSFORGE (registration no. 2026/267894/07, based at 144 Ria Road, Murrayfield, Pretoria, Gauteng, 0184) is the responsible party under POPIA for the personal information described in this policy.

What We Collect

We collect personal information you give us directly:

  • Contact form: name, email address, phone number, and your message.
  • Checkout / order requests: name, email, phone number, delivery details, and the contents of your cart.
  • Cart contents: stored in your browser's local storage so your cart persists between visits — this stays on your device and is only sent to us when you submit a checkout request.

Providing your contact and delivery details is necessary for us to respond to you, process your order, or arrange delivery — without them, we can't fulfil the request you're making.

How We Use It

We use this information to respond to enquiries, process and confirm order requests, arrange delivery, and provide after-sales support. We don't use it for anything beyond running BSForge and communicating with you about your enquiry or order.

Who We Share It With

We share information only with the services that help us operate, and only what each one needs to do its job:

  • Stitch — our payment processor. If you use Pay Now, your name, email, and phone number are shared with Stitch to process your payment. BSForge never sees or stores your card or bank details.
  • Resend — delivers the emails generated by our contact form and order confirmations.
  • Google Forms / Google Apps Script — receives and records checkout order requests so we can process them.
  • Netlify — hosts this website and its server infrastructure.
  • Couriers — receive the name, address, and phone number needed to deliver your order.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

Stitch, Resend, and Google are based outside South Africa (Stitch processes payments locally but may rely on infrastructure abroad; Resend and Google are US-based), so using them involves transferring your information outside the country. We only send them what's needed to deliver an email, process a payment, or process an order request — this transfer is necessary to perform the contract with you (fulfilling your enquiry, payment, or order), which is a lawful basis for cross-border transfer under POPIA.

Cookies & Analytics

We use local storage (not third-party cookies) to remember your cart, and basic, privacy-conscious usage analytics to understand how the site is used and improve it. If we add a third-party analytics tool such as Google Analytics in future, this policy will be updated to reflect it.

Data Retention

We keep order and payment records for at least 5 years to meet South African tax and accounting record-keeping requirements. Enquiry and other request information is kept only as long as needed to handle your request and provide after-sales/warranty support, then it's deleted or anonymised where our other legal obligations allow it.

Your Rights

Under POPIA, you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, ask us to delete it (subject to legal or accounting requirements to retain certain records), or object to us processing it. To do any of this, contact us and we'll action it directly.

If you're not satisfied with how we've handled a request, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with South Africa's Information Regulator — inforegulator.org.za, POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS, and we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the personal information we hold. No online system is 100% risk-free, but we treat your information carefully and only share it with the services listed above.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the business or the tools we use evolve. Changes are posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date, and the current version always applies. If a change is material, we'll highlight it here and mention it the next time you contact us or place an order.
